Tips to get Back on Track with your Health Goals

After the holiday season, you can get back on track with your health by making some small changes to your eating habits, drinking more water, and exercising more.

Eating habits

  • Eat smaller portions

  • Choose healthier snacks like fruits and vegetables

  • Eat more fresh ingredients

  • Limit processed foods and sugary drinks

  • Eat balanced meals

  • Choose lean proteins

Hydration

  • Drink plenty of water - approximately half your weight (in lbs) in oz

  • If you don't like water, infuse water with fruits, herbs, and spices

  • Limit sugary drinks

Exercise

  • Gradually increase your activity level, and reduce sitting and screen time

  • I know someone who can help you pick safe, best "bang for your buck" exercises...your friendly neighborhood PT at either of our two locations would be happy to help

Sleep

  • Get enough good sleep

  • Try to get at least seven hours of sleep each night

Other habits

  • Plan and prepare meals ahead of time so you're not just eating what is fast and easy and likely processed

  • Clear out the pantry

  • Reflect and forgive yourself for some of the recent health decisions and do better today
