How to Stay Motivated While Exercising!

How to Stay Motivated While Exercising! Exercising is hard, but it doesn’t have to be. There is a theory that if you can get past the first 15 minutes, adrenaline will kick in and you will feel full of energy, refreshed and ready to continue your workout. While this may or may not be true for everyone, it’s often hard to find that motivation to exercise, especially if you are just starting out on an exercise program. Exercise is essential for a healthy life. Even moderate physical activity, such as walking or raking leaves, can help prevent or delay age-associated conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure. While talking about exercise is easy, it’s often the “doing” part that is hard. Find your motivation and start your exercise program today. Here are a few tips to help you get though your workout: Positive Thoughts Mind over matter. You might be surprised to find out you are stronger than you think. It’s all about the positive thoughts, if you tell yourself you can do it you most likely can. Our minds often give up quicker than our bodies do. Keep the thoughts positive and you will accomplish great things. Find your Why It’s important to find that reason why you are exercising and remind yourself. If you are recovering from a past injury and trying to build up strength to start running again keep that thought at the top of your mind. Constantly remind yourself and use it as motivation to get through the hard times. Think of the Future Three months from now you would have wished you started today. Lots of people give up on their goals because of the amount of time that it will take to reach that goal. That time will pass anyways so you might as well start now. For example, if your main goal is to gain muscle, then think of how great you will look and feel in a few months once you reach that goal. Minute Countdown This tip is especially helpful for a cardio workout. Cardio is often about the amount of time put in. Start small; set a goal of 10 minutes on the elliptical. Once that 10 minutes hits, you might be so proud of yourself that you will want to stay on 5 minutes longer. Each time you get on the elliptical, add 5 minutes to your highest time spent until you reach a time that is satisfying to your goals. Gym Buddy Having an accountability buddy is one of the best things you can do for yourself. This person will help to keep you motivated and consistent. Share your goals with your buddy and get to work.
