Cervical Fusion
Through normal wear and tear, the discs in our neck can break down, causing pain and loss of mobility. Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion, or ACDF, is a spine surgical procedure done through the neck. The incision is in the front of your neck because it’s easier to reach the disc that way. During the procedure, the surgeon removes bone spurs or damaged discs that are pressing on the nerve, and fuses the damaged disc to relieve neck pain.
