It’s that time of year again! Cool breeze, fall colors and pumpkin patches. It’s officially sweater weather. There is nothing better on a chilly day than a warm cup of hot chocolate. This recipe is great to bring to a party or even just to enjoy at home with family.
This recipe is also very versatile to cater to the upcoming holidays. For Halloween, add some candy corn! For Christmas, add some crushed candy canes. You can also swap out the white chocolate chips for milk chocolate chips if you prefer traditional hot chocolate flavor. The possibilities are endless. We promise once you try this homemade hot chocolate you will never drink powdered hot chocolate again!
What do you need?
1/2-gallon whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup heavy cream
1-12-oz bag white Ghirardelli white chocolate chips
Whipped cream (for topping)
Sprinkles (for topping)
In a 3-quart or larger slow cooker add milk, heavy cream, vanilla & chocolate chips.
Cover and cook on low for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally, until mixture is hot and chocolate chips are melted.
Stir again before serving.
Garnish with whipped cream and sprinkles, as desired.
