Christmas Gifts Your PT is Hoping Santa Brings You
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is almost here; hopefully by now you have checked your lists twice and mailed them to Santa! This is the time of year for giving.
Here is a list of practical gifts to give your loved ones this holiday season! These gifts are so great you might even want to keep a few for yourself. Check out this list of Physical Therapist approved gifts that are both thoughtful and useful.
Good-quality athletic shoes –Almost every physical pastime requires comfortable, supportive shoes. Whether you’re a golfer, hiker, or gym rat, having the appropriate shoes makes it that much easier to live a healthy and active lifestyle.
Reusable ice/heat pack – Temperature therapy is crucial in pain management, and a reusable pack that can be thrown in the microwave or freezer (depending on your needs) makes it just that much easier.
Therapy bands – If you’ve been in physical therapy before, you’re already familiar with the stretchy, colorful bands used in our rehabilitative programs. They come in a variety of resistance levels and are extremely portable for on-the-go strengthening.
Planner– You must plan for success. Keeping a daily planner helps to keep you organized and keeps your efficiency level at 100%
Exercise ball – Available in a range of sizes, an exercise ball is an excellent tool for building core strength. Bonus: Use it as a substitute for an office chair to improve your posture.
Reusable Water Bottle– Make it a habit to always have water easily accessible to you. Water is critical for your body. Carrying around a water bottle will help to remind you to drink more water. Plus, a reusable water bottle is better for the environment than a plastic one.
It’s always better to give than to receive, so instead of giving video games or clothing consider some of these physical therapist-approved gifts and help your loved ones start 2018 on an active note.
Have a safe and happy holiday, and keep moving, friends!
